Inspiring Young Readers
An interview with Brian Moses
The Letterpress Project has asked authors and illustrators to think about what has inspired them as artists, what their favourite books are and how they relate to their audience - we've also asked them if they themselves are book collectors.
We are delighted to present an exclusive interview with the author, Brian Moses. Brian is one of Britain’s most beloved and widely read children’s poets. He began writing after realising he would never be a rock star; however, he tires to capture in his poetry some of the bounce and energy of the music that he loves. He has since published over 200 books. Python was Brian’s first children’s story book, which has been re-released as The Snake in the Loft along with The Incredible Shrinking Ghost and both books are available now.
Brian was a teacher for thirteen years, and through his writing and intensive schedule of school visits, remains a passionate educationalist to this day. He has been a keynote speaker at International School conferences in both London and Madrid. When he is not writing or performing, he runs writing workshops, helping others develop their skills and foster their creativity
