Inspiring Young Readers
An Interview with Saviour Pirotta
The Letterpress Project has asked authors and illustrators to think about what has inspired them as artists, what their favourite books are and how they relate to their audience - we've also asked them if they themselves are book collectors.
We are delighted to present an exclusive interview with author, Saviour Pirotta. Saviour is a best-selling author who writes historical fiction, contemporary stories and adapts myths and legends for today's readers. His first middle grade novel, Mark of the Cyclops won the North Somerset Teachers' Book Award. His second, The Golden Horsemen of Baghdad was shortlisted for three awards. He has also won the Fiction Express award for his online fantasy novel, Pandora's Box. His work has been translated into 36 languages. He lives in Scarborough, North Yorkshire and enjoys making pizza and ice-cream, walking by the sea and collecting vintage books, postcards and ephemera
