Inspiring Young Readers
An Interview With Steve Brown
The Letterpress Project has asked authors and illustrators to think about what has inspired them as artists, what their favourite books are and how they relate to their audience - we've also asked them if they themselves are book collectors.
We are delighted to present an interview with the illustrator, Steve Brown. This is what Steve told us about himself:
I’m Steve, I am a freelance Children’s Illustrator represented by the Wonderful Bright Agency. www.thebrightagency.com
I live on the Romney Marsh in Kent, England. I have drawn since I can remember, and grew up with the best cartoons from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s which have been a big influence on my style and humour.
I work digitally in photoshop On my 24inch Wacom Cintiq. You will find me surrounded by comic books and toys in my studio at my home down the bottom of the garden over looking fields and trees.
I have produced work for various publishers in the UK and USA.
I have a passion for character design and telling stories through illustration, I like to use humour in my illustrations to make things fun for the child and the adults alike.
When I’m not drawing I’m looking after my 3 little monsters with my amazing wife
Steve has his own website and if you want to see more you can access it here: http://www.stevebrownillustration.co.uk/
