An Interview With Irfan Master
The Letterpress Project has asked authors and illustrators to think about what has inspired them as artists, what their favourite books are and how they relate to their audience - we've also asked them if they themselves are book collectors.
We are delighted to present an exclusive interview with the children's author, Irfan Master. Irfan's first novel, A Beautiful Lie, was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize 2011 and nominated for the Branford Boase Award 2012, as well as a slew of regional awards including the North East Book Award, the We Read Award, the Essex Book Award, the Redbridge Book Award and the Amazing Book Award, all in 2012. It also featured on the 2013 USBBY Outstanding International Book Honor List. His second novel for young adults, Out of Heart, was published by Hot Key Books in April 2017. Irfan has been a librarian and was project manager of Reading the Game at the National Literacy Trust before becoming a full-time writer.
Irfan has his own website if you want to read more about him which can be accessed on this link: http://www.irfanmaster.com/home
