Inspiring Young Readers
An Interview With Jon Blake
The Letterpress Project has asked authors and illustrators to think about what has inspired them as artists, what their favourite books are and how they relate to their audience - we've also asked them if they themselves are book collectors.
We are delighted to present an exclusive interview with the writer and children's book author, Jon Blake. Jon qualified as a teacher in 1979 and still teaches creative writing. His first story was published in 1984 and since then he has written over 60 books, mainly for children, as well as scripts for TV and radio. Jon's
successes include Axel Scheffler's first picture book, You’re a Hero, Daley B!, Stinky Finger's House of Fun, One Girl School, The Last Free Cat and Thimble Monkey Superstar, shortlisted for the 2017 Lollies (Laugh Out Loud awards).
