For Dad : An Alzheimer's Acrostic
(In November 2015 we published Karen Argent's tribute to the role her late father played in making her into a reader.
Now, four years later, through the medium of poetry, she returns to her memories of him in his last years.)
Dad
Eddie, Extrovert,
Mum and family, making friends, musical,
Encouraging, enthusiastic, experimental, energetic
Nostalgic, nature -loving, not one to be told, never ready,
Trying hard, tetchy, toilet- trips,
Irritated, isolated,
