Why Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and the Harry Potter series are ‘classic’ children’s books

Who decides when a book should be given ‘classic’ status? This paper discusses what is meant by a ‘classic ‘ book with reference to severa authors who havel written on this interesting subject and goes on to propose that the examples of Alice and Harry Potter clearly fit the definition.
