An Interview with David Macphail

The Letterpress Project has asked authors and illustrators to think about what has inspired them as artists, what their favourite books are and how they relate to their audience - we've also asked them if they themselves are book collectors.

We are delighted to present an exclusive interview with the  author, David Macphail. David left home at 18 to travel the World and have adventures. Some of his many jobs included working as a pool waiter on a tropical island, a chicken wrangler on a kibbutz, a door to door salesman and a ghost tour guide. He later read philosophy at Aberdeen University. David has published many books for children and lives with his family in Perthshire. David's books include Yeti on the Loose, Thorfinn and the Awful Invasion, Thorfinn and the Gruesome Games as well as his most recent, White Feather which he wrote in collaboration with Catherine Macphail and which we reviewed here.
