An Interview With Richard O'Neill

The Letterpress Project has asked authors and illustrators to think about what has inspired them as artists, what their favourite books are and how they relate to their audience - we've also asked them if they themselves are book collectors.

We are delighted to present an interview with Richard O'Neill. Richard is an award winning, storyteller, author and workshop leader based in Manchester. He delivers sessions in a wide range of settings across Europe, in schools, libraries, festivals, universities and theatres. He has a particular interest in using literature to promote inclusion and social mobility.

He is the recipient of the ‘National Literacy Hero’ award, the Beacon Leadership Award for community development and inclusion. He is published by Childs Play International.

His books have received teacher awards in the UK and ‘Book-list’ awards in the USA and an Aesop medal..
