An Interview With Winifred Alexander

The Letterpress Project has asked authors and illustrators to think about what has inspired them as artists, what their favourite books are and how they relate to their audience - we've also asked them if they themselves are book collectors.

We are delighted to present an interview with the children's author, Winifred Alexander. She is a writer of fictional, fantasy and adventure stories and was born and raised in the small town of Burton on Trent, before moving to Birmingham to further her education and pursue new opportunities. She also writes non-fiction, such as motivational self-help books. A single mother of two children and two beloved cats, who whilst travelling,  enjoys the outdoors of both the beach and good countryside views,  from where Winifred likes to clear her mind and be inspired to write. Since graduating from Birmingham University with a Sociology and Psychology Bsc degree, she has had various occupations within the educational sector and the civil service, which only allowed her to write part-time. She decided that her favourite job was being able to express her mind creatively and write to her heart's content. Winifred‘s dream and aspiration is to one day have a bestselling book that relates to all readers across the globe.
