An Interview With Guy Parker-Rees

The Letterpress Project has asked authors and illustrators to think about what has inspired them as artists, what their favourite books are and how they relate to their audience - we've also asked them if they themselves are book collectors.

We are delighted to present an interview by the leading children's book illustrator, Guy Parker-Rees. Guy  is the best-selling illustrator of Giraffes Can’t Dance, written by Giles Andreae (Orchard), which recently celebrated its fifteenth anniversary. They have just teamed up again to create the heartwarming Be Brave Little Penguin,  (Orchard). Guy has also collaborated with Tony Mitton on a range of successful picture books for Orchard including Bumpus Jumpus Dinosaurumpus and Down by the Cool of the Pool. He also collaborated with Gareth Edwards on Never Ask a Dinosaur to Dinner and Fabulous Pie (Scholastic). Guy has just created an exciting new series of books about Dylan the Dog, for Alison Green Books.

Guy has his own website if you want to read more about him which can be accessed on this link: http://www.guyparkerrees.com/index.html
