An Interview With Abie Longstaff

The Letterpress Project has asked authors and illustrators to think about what has inspired them as artists, what their favourite books are and how they relate to their audience - we've also asked them if they themselves are book collectors.

We are delighted to present an exclusive interview with the children's  author, Abie Longstaff. Abie  is the eldest of six children and grew up in Australia, Hong Kong and France. She began her career as a barrister but started writing when her children were born. She has a life-long love of fairy tales and mythology and her work is greatly influenced by these themes. For younger children her books include The Fairytale Hairdresser series and The Magic Potions Shop. For ages 7+ she writes the Tally and Squill mystery adventure books, as well as the How to Catch a Witch series
