An Interview With Melvin Burgess

The Letterpress Project has asked authors and illustrators to think about what has inspired them as artists, what their favourite books are and how they relate to their audience - we've also asked them if they themselves are book collectors.

We are thrilled to present an exclusive interview with the talented - and sometimes controversial - writer of novels for young adults, Melvin Burgess. Melvin, who lives in West Yorkshire, is the author of Junk, Doing It, Bloodtide and many others. He has won many awards for his books and is described on the British Council website as  "the ‘godfather’ of Young Adult fiction in Britain".
