An Interview With Verna Wilkins
The Letterpress Project has asked authors and illustrators to think about what has inspired them as artists, what their favourite books are and how they relate to their audience - we've also asked them if they themselves are book collectors.
We are delighted to present an exclusive interview with the wonderful Verna Wilkins. Verna was the founder of the Tamarind Books and is a pioneer in championing diversity in children's publishing. She is also the author of many of her own books - The Life of Stephen Lawrence and Dave and The Tooth Fairy to name just two - ,which are hugely popular with young readers and their parents.
