An Interview With Kerry Hadley-Pryce

The Letterpress Project has asked authors and illustrators to think about what has inspired them as artists, what their favourite books are and how they relate to their audience - we've also asked them if they themselves are book collectors.

We are delighted to present an exclusive interview with the Black Country author, Kerry Hadley-Pryce. Kerry was born in Wordsley, in the West Midlands and has worked as a secondary school teacher, teaching English and creative writing in the south west for several years before returning to her native Midlands. She wrote her first novel The Black Country whilst studying for an MA in Creative Writing at the Manchester Writing School at MMU, for which she gained a distinction and for which she was awarded the Michael Schmidt Prize for outstanding achievement 2013-1014.
