An Interview with Hilary Robinson

The Letterpress Project has asked authors and illustrators to think about what has inspired them as artists, what their favourite books are and how they relate to their audience - we've also asked them if they themselves are book collectors.

We are delighted to present an exclusive interview with the  network radio producer, author and feature writer, Hilary Robinson.  Hilary produces weekly music programmes along with documentaries which include Private Peaceful presented by Robson Green, The Paul Robeson Tapes and Lenny Bruce is Dead - all for BBC Radio 2.    She is the author of over 60 books for children including Mixed Up Fairy Tales, Where The Poppies Now Grow and Jasper Space Dog!  She has won several awards including the 2016 Historical Associations's Young Quill's Award for Flo of the Somme.  

Hilary was born in Devon and grew up in Zaria, Nigeria, Dorset and Yorkshire.  She is married with two daughters.
