Letterpress Project @ Colwall Church and Ale House Festival

We were delighted to be invited to take part in the second Colwall Church and Ale House Festival on 16th July. The festival was on a split site around the church grounds and a field about 200 yards away - and both locations were buzzing. In the church grounds were stalls of all kinds - food and crafts and the ever popular raffles. Down in the fields there were the more boisterous activities and a very splendid ice-cream van.

The Letterpress Project was there to run a small bookstall and to do story reading for younger children. Over the course of the day we had children crowding in to hear The Tiger Who Came to Tea, Elmer, We're Going On A Bear Hunt, The Gruffalo and plenty of others. We were alos happy to sell the parents and children some classic books while they were there. We were located in the delightful enclosed gardens and shielded from potential bad weather - but as it turned out the day was very pleasant and the wind and rain kept away

We met lots of really lovely people and we had children who came back for several of the stories - and by the end our tent was full of children, parents and grandparents. Hopefully three generations of eager readers!

The day was brilliantly organised and it felt that everyone had had a great day. We'd be happy to go back again........ if we're invited (hint, hint)
